About thirty of us headed down to downtown Phoenix to be a part of Feed my Starving Children’s One Million Meals campaign. FMSC is expanding and they held this 24 hour event that was trying to pack one million meals and raise one million dollars for the expansion. I serve with FMSC every six months and love being a part of a team of people who bonds together to make a difference in the world. FMSC is a food packing ministry that uses volunteers to pack food that is shipped all over the world to poverty striken areas to feed children that suffer from malnourishment. This event was held at the Phoenix convention center and they had time slots that you could sign up for over the weekend. Our group took the call and did the 3am to 5am slot. We were tired, but in the end our group packed 72360 meals – enough to feed 198 kids for a year. Overall in the 24 hours, 2,966 volunteers packed 1,023,408 meals (enough to feed 2804 children for a full year)! They also raised over $500,000 for the expansion. It was a blessing to be a part of this and a blessing to serve alongside my amazing friends.

Billboards all over Phoenix promoting Cityfest

Tempe Town Lake played host to family free event called Arizona CityFest. The two-day festival drew over 110,000 people.  Bringing the gospel message was world-renowned evangelist Luis Palau. Over 550 churches and businesses worked hard over the past year to make this event happen. TobyMac, Skillet, The Band Perry, and Mat Kearney were just some of the top Christian artists that played to the large crowd as Luis Palau brought a message of Good News both nights. Also featured were action sport demos from skateboarding to freestyle cycling and motocross. Volunteers participated in over 140,000 hours of labor at more than 450 projects in the local community leading up to the event. I got to attend the first day with family and friends.

I love baseball. April 1 was opening day for baseball. But I missed out on it. Why? Because it was also the opening day for our new worship auditorium for our church. It took a couple of years to build. Its an amazing building! I am very fortunate to be on the production team for my church. I easiliy put in 20+ this weekend in rehearsals and training in addition to working my normal job. The couple of days leading to Sunday were incredible. The amount of teamwork, volunteers, prayer, fellowship, etc that went on was truly a blessing to be a part of. The services went pretty smooth with very little problems. The band was awesome as well as Kurt Warner. And you know what the best part is.. we ran out of seats. Its crazy how God has blessed this church. I’m so glad to be a part of it. What an amazing day is was!
