As we prepare our hearts to join together at Passion 2015, we acclimate ourselves to prepare for what God has in store for us these few days. We are all on different paths and yet God is calling all of us to join together as one body in community at Passion. May we be bold in making His name famous as we go out into the world.
“In the wilderness prepare
the way for the Lord;
make straight in the desert
a highway for our God.
Every valley shall be raised up,
every mountain and hill made low;
the rough ground shall become level,
the rugged places a plain.
And the glory of the Lord will be revealed,
and all people will see it together.

WE ARE ALL IN IT TO END IT!
Today is Shine a Light on Slavery Day. This is the target day for End it Movement to reach the masses about the 27 million people being held in modern-day slavery and sex trafficking. This movement started in January at Passion 2013 and has made a lot of noise since. Everywhere college students and young adults are finding creative ways to talk about this issue. Many celebrities have jumped on board to use their star status to raise awareness. Awareness is doing the work and End It exists to help educate us about this injustice. We are the generation that can be a voice for those without one and put an end to slavery. Indifference is not an option. Draw a red X on your hand and talk to people about this. I got an early morning surprise this morning – the new Passion CD. Earlier this year I attended Passion 2013 in Atlanta. After every conference, Passion releases a new album with all the new worship songs. The new album is called Let the Future Begin. The theme of Passion 2013 was this whole issue of modern-day slavery/sex trafficking and how this generation can abolish it. Passion launched End It Movement after the conference – a movement to raise awareness about the 27 million people being held in modern-day slavery. The songs that were sung at Passion 2013 are songs of hope and freedom. I loved last year’s White Flag and this one will be no different. It will always be special for me knowing I was in attendance singing along with 60,000 of my brothers and sisters in Christ.

For the finale, each of us were handed a sign with a picture of someone on it who was rescued from slavery. We were asked to hold these signs up as the Passion band played Whom Shall I Fear [God of Angel Armies]. Real life stories were printed on the back for us to read so we could be encouraged by how they were rescued from this injustice. It was an amazing but touching moment to sing praises for these people and to sing out for those that are still in slavery today. We then sang the anthem Shout followed by God’s Great Dance Floor to close out Passion 2013. What an amazing four days to start the year off!

After Chris Tomlin led off with this amazing song Once and for All that has really hit home with me, Louie Giglio went around and introduced the band members and the community group leaders for the week at Passion 2013.

Students and leaders at Passion 2013 raised their voice for the 27 million people trapped in slavery and declared to the world that this generation is in it to END IT. Together, they gave more than $3.3 million to fund 23 causes with 19 partner organizations and shine a light on slavery around the world.

Kari Jobe
Kari Jobe will be touring with Chris Tomlin in his upcoming “Burning Lights” tour this Spring. Tonight she joined the Passion band onstage for the evening session. After singing Crown Him (Majesty) with Chris, Kari sang Revelation Song. It’s a beautiful song and I was amazed by her voice and her passion. With this being the last night session for Passion 2013, they really made the worship special for the evening with these amazing musicians.

Chris Tomlin and the Passion band opened the evening session with “Awake my Soul” off the Burning Lights album. While singing, Lecrae joined him on stage. Lecrae has such an amazing testimony and has been a part of the Passion movement since Passion 2012. This was my first Lecrae concert and I really enjoyed his energy and passion for the Lord.

Burning Lights

One of the coolest deals at Passion is the digital all-access pass. After Passion is over, you are sent all the sermons and the songs from Passion 2013 right to your email over the next couple of months. In March, the new Passion album will come out featuring all the new songs that are being played at Passion 2013. They also had a package deal in which you get Chris Tomlin’s new album Burning Lights before it is in the stores with the all-access pass for $30. I picked it up today and really enjoyed the new songs.
