I love how God works. He is very clear that we will trials and hard times. He says it won’t be easy. Yet he does things for us to help us along the way. To let us know he with there with him. For me, he has given me amazing encouraging friends. They always seem to show up at the right time.

I really feel this year is going to be a step in my walk with the Lord. Yet his past month has been a month filled with massive spiritual attacks for me because I have stepped up in my faith. Yet God has placed amazing people in my life to help encourage me through these times. I’m talking out-of-the blue encouragements from people I didn’t expect to hear from. A surprise visit from my friend Nathan from Iowa, phone calls from Jamin in Sudan, myspace message from Jude in Belize, an instant message chat with Sarah (and her new baby), Kristine has been there for me, my men’s group laid hands on me, Kelly (who is such a blessing to me) text me from the Netherlands to tell me she was thinking of me, Deanna took me out to dinner after not seeing her for 2 years, Mark emails me every week, Leah encourages me through her blogs, Melissa (I can’t say enough), Candace prays for me, Pastor Ron, (Wow!), and I could go on and on.  All these people went out of their way to encourage me. God is good. I am trusting him that he knows what the plan is during these times. I am growing stronger in my faith. But I am most thankful for that fact he understands what I’m going through and is giving me what I need to get through it.

God Bless everyone! I love you! Life is amazing!

We ask so many times… ‘God Bless Me ‘. ‘God Bless this…’, etc.

God is amazing. He loves us. He will bless us when we ask. That is what grace is all about. He wants us to enjoy his blessings. He wants us to soak in his blessings.

But his blessings aren’t just there for us to soak up… and do nothing. If we do that, then our value of Christ is low. We lack that hunger for him. His blessings were not meant to be hoarded. They were meant to be shared.

We see examples of God blessings throughout scripture. He uses different people throughout the Bible to be a blessing to others.

Gen 1:28 (creation of man) “God blessed then and said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply! Fill the earth and subdue it!'”

Gen 12:12 (talking to Abram) “Then I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you, and I will make your name great, so that you will exemplify divine blessing.”

The parable of the rich fool in Luke 12:13-21 Someone in the crowd said to him, ‘Teacher, tell my brother to divide the family inheritance with me.’ But he said to him, ‘Friend, who set me to be a judge or arbitrator over you?’ And he said to them, ‘Take care! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of possessions.’Then he told them a parable: “The land of a rich man produced abundantly. And he thought to himself, ‘What should I do, for I have no place to store my crops?’ Then he said, ‘I will do this: I will pull down my barns and build larger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have ample goods laid up for many years; relax, eat, drink, be merry.’ But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life is being demanded of you. And the things you have prepared, whose will they be? So it is with those who store up treasures for themselves but are not rich toward God.”

David, Jonah, Daniel, Moses – all people God blessed to glorify him.

God Blesses us…

To Be a blessing to others…

To Glorify Him!

1 Peter 2:9 “But you are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people of his own, so you may proclaim the virtues of the one who called you out of darkness in to his marvelous light.”
