We took a 6 hour sleeper train from Tenali to Chennai. Wow.. what an experience that was! It was pitch black when we got on and we all ended up standing in the aisle trying to make our way around looking for an empty bed. When I found one and I began to nap. Not too long after, a body slid in behind me without saying a word. I figured out pretty quickly that I took someone’s bed and I immediately jumped out. We couldn’t stop laughing. Finally a conductor came in and helped us find our assigned beds. I climbed to my third level bed and shut my curtain. It was pretty tight for my big body, but I managed. All was good until I turned on my flashlight and saw a few cockroaches scurry by. I just closed my eyes and pretended I didn’t see that. Once we got to Chennai, our Harvest India friends got into some heated negotiations with some cab drivers. I guess they tried to jack up the prices because we were Americans. Once we got to out hotel, there was no room for us. So we loaded up again and headed to another hotel – which actually was a little nicer. Flexibility in action again!
