We had devotions and then breakfast on the roof. After breakfast tailors from Harvest India took our measurements so they can make us traditional Indian clothes to wear for the week. Brian of course was a little picky in how he wanted his made – a little thin, not too baggy. Our first stop of the day was the schoolhouse. We got to ride in rickshaws, which was a little scary.
Hope to see more locale-appropriate attire in the coming days, as an exterior posture to relate to the local people. Western designer clothing in Tenali would be a distraction and I do not think has a place, considering where they were manufactured in the first place using disadvantaged labor.
Cheering for you guys. Change the outside, change on the inside.
