Because of the delays in our construction project, we decided to head into Ngong and go to the Marketplace. It was an interesting experience as they are not used to white people being there. But even though we got lots of looks, everyone was very friendly. There was definitely a lot of activity there as people hound you to buy their stuff. I didn’t buy anything as nothing interest me. But we did buy some avocados, tomatoes and onions to make guacamole.

Marketplace in Ngong
I spent the rest of the day scrubbing some walls next to the kitchen and hanging with the kids. Kenyans must not be hairy because they love to run their fingers through my arm and leg hair. I get a kick out of it. But I did get frustrated with some people on my team because a few of them were spending lots of time on their laptops chatting with people back home instead of hanging with the kids. Tonight was my turn to lead devotions and I was trying to find a constructive way to address it.

Daniel being cool
Little nerve-wrecking leading a Bible study in front of my lead Pastor, but I like challenges. I gave my testimony on how I got into missions and just challenged people to stay focus on our goals here – especially during days that are a little slow. It was a good experience for me.
