Arriving in Kenya
We arrived safely in Kenya after a five hour flight from Dubai. We were the first team here not to have missing luggage. Mama Zipporah and some of our team that came early greeted us at the airport. We traveled a bumpy ride through Nairobi, Karen and Ngong until we arrived at Huruma Children’s Home. We were surprised when 100+ kids were screaming with excitement at our arrival.

Our warm welcome
I was pretty tired from the flight and wanted to take a nap, but we had church service right away. The room was full of energy as the kids were singing and dancing. I’ve never seen anything like it. And it seem like they would never stop either.
Mama Zipporah brought us up in front to introduce us to the kids. We then had a prayer session for Kate McRae – the little girl back home suffering from a brain tumor. It was powerful. Pastor Joseph (who now has taken over the speaking now that Pastor Isaac has left us) finished up with a sermon.

I took a long nap after lunch. I wasn’t feeling the greatest after the long flight here. Mama gave us a tour of Huruma and then we headed off to dinner. Chicken and chips were on the menu for the evening. My evening was capped off with a nice conversation with Pastor Linn about church. I’ve really enjoyed catching up with him and sharing some stories about what is going on in my life.
