“In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:16
I’m really excited to see how Second Saturday is shaping up at the church. We have a core group of people that have showed up for everyone one of these. And we are still averaging just over 120 people that come to serve the community at 8am on a Saturday morning. I love that Marty McIntyre played “God of this City” (a song Chris Tomlin adopted from a band from Belfast) before we left. That is really what this is all about. God is present here in this city, yet there is so much more to be done. Great things are being done with this group of people.
After Second Saturday, we put on another Gospel and Grocery event for the hispanic community. As some of you know, I have been involved with this event for some time. I have a huge heart for the hispanic community. I’ve become good friends with Pastor Abel and his wife Cecy from Iglesia Vida. They are doing amazing things with their church.
My love will always be with internantional missions. Yet it is so important to reach out to those in the surrounding neighborhoods. I am so thankful for being part of a church that recognizes this and is obeying God in serving our community.
